Lactarius Labs is funded by a consortium of rubber producers in the far East.

The Lactarius Genus, amongst other traits, are characterized by the latex they exude when their tissue is damaged. Little research has been done with these mushrooms but their potential for use in industry is significant.

North America's vast agricultural industry provides substantial amounts of agricultural waste. These fungi can be cultivated from liquid waste in fermentation vessels or on solid waste products.
